Never Did We Imagine

A year like no other, we were caught by surprise.

Like watching a movie but we were the stars.

As events unfolded and countries locked down,

No more could we meet in restaurants and bars.

Stopped in our tracks and forced to slow down,

Many lives shaken, right down to the core,

It made us rethink what’s important in life,

To let go of things we don’t need anymore.

A new year begins and it’s like a clean slate,

What did we learn and how will we grow?

The fight is not over but resolve is renewed,

Together we’ll defeat this invisible foe.
